Private Residences Revealed
Torre Galli
An 18th‑century farmhouse nestled in the hills above Tropea, Torre Galli is a refined rural residence that has retained its historic elegance. Once the agricultural heart of a noble estate, it now welcomes guests among antique furnishings, vine‑covered pergolas, citrus blossoms, and sweeping views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. A place suspended in time, where one can breathe in the true spirit of Calabria. After touring the property, enjoy a typical dinner and overnight stay at the manor.
Places We Will Visit
Amantea – A walk through the historic center, where noble architecture meets sacred art. We’ll visit the evocative Palazzo delle Clarisse, now a cultural center, and the elegant Palazzo Carratelli, one of the region’s most beautiful historic residences.
Pizzo Calabro – Experience the romance of Murat Castle, the charm of the Piedigrotta Church carved into the rock, and sample the region’s famous Tartufo Gelato by the sea.
Vibo Valentia – We will explore the Norman‑Swabian Castle, home to the Archaeological Museum, wander through the city’s centre, and visit the Church of San Michele, the courtyard of the former Jesuit College, and the stately Palazzo Gagliardi. Then we travel to Tropea, one of Italy’s most picturesque towns, with its historic mansions and dramatic sea views.
Tauriani Archaeological Park – A walk among the Roman remains and promontory scenery in Palmi, overlooking the Strait.
Villa Zerbi (Taurianova) – An elegant 18th‑century Baroque residence, guardian of refined architecture and noble memories.
Tenuta Acton Leporano – Visit an ancient agricultural estate once part of a vast fief between the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas. Here we will enjoy a tasting of local oil and wine. Dinner and overnight stay at the estate.
Locri Epizephiri – A journey into Magna Graecia, with visits to the archaeological park and its museum, key symbols of Greek civilization in Calabria.
Gerace – A medieval village with preserved charm: Romanesque churches, cathedral, and narrow stone‑paved streets. We’ll have lunch and a cooking class at Casina Carbone, a historic residence that brings together art, tradition, and gastronomy.
Reggio Calabria – Admire the famous Riace Bronzes at the National Archaeological Museum, and stroll along the gorgeous Falcomatà Promenade with its views across to Sicily.
Scilla – Lunch by the sea in the fishermen’s quarter of Chianalea, where houses seem to hang over the water’s edge.
Mammola – We end with contemporary and environmental art at the MuSaBa, an open‑air museum‑laboratory created by artists Nik Spatari and Hiske Maas.
