A scenic architectural complex that still jealously preserves the charm of its noble past. Embraced by the peaceful countryside that gently meets the soft banks of the Reno River, Palazzo de’ Rossi is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful historic residences in Bologna.

The elegant late-Gothic building was constructed at the end of the 15th century at the will of Bartolomeo de’ Rossi, a wealthy merchant from Parma, who wished to create within his vast agricultural estate an oasis of peace and relaxation—a place to fully savor the pleasures of country life.

Next to the main residence, a village was built, complete with houses, workshops, stables, mills, sawmills, and paper mills powered by the waters of the Reno. The palace was a true residential and productive center, well-structured and self-sufficient, combining usefulness with pleasure. In a short time, it became so prestigious that it hosted some of the most illustrious figures of the era, including Giovanni II Bentivoglio, Torquato Tasso, and several Popes—Julius II della Rovere, Leo X de’ Medici, and Paul III Farnese.

Palazzo de’ Rossi, together with its ancient village, is a perfectly preserved historic residence, thanks to the care of its owners, the noble Bevilacqua Ariosti family.

It offers large indoor and outdoor spaces with splendid gardens and a covered courtyard suitable for hosting events such as weddings, gala receptions, meetings, exhibitions, and performances—all within a setting of timeless charm that does not sacrifice modern comfort, thanks to state-of-the-art air conditioning systems integrated throughout the interior halls.

In the ancient village, there are various accommodation and dining facilities, with options for outdoor service and direct views of the palace.
