The story of Borgo Sant'Ambrogio it has its roots in the seventeenth century, a period which dates back to the oldest part of the structure. The main building is of the 1600, while the wings to the South and North and the annexed buildings that host thefarmhouse, restaurant and meeting hall they are from the beginning of the last century.

During the eighteenth century, Sant'Ambrogio was a monastero of nuns devoted to the homonymous Milanese saint (of which there is still a contemporary portrait). Below the nineteenth-century frescoes, which embellish the main farmhouse, a further layer of frescoes dating back to the previous century was found.

In 1971 the estate, owned by the Contucci family of Montepulciano, was taken over by Ranieri and Maria Teresa Apollonj Ghetti.

Fascinated by the beauty of the nature reserve surrounding and from the centuries-old history of the village, they have chosen Sant'Ambrogio as the ideal setting to enjoy the riches of Tuscan nature together with their six children.
