The Castello dei Solaro, at 40 Km from Turin, is a historic home of the 1200, built by the noble Princes of Acaja as a military outpost against the powerful marquisate of Saluzzo. The history of the Castello dei Solaro
There is not a certain date on its first construction but is found in a document dating back to 1259 in which Oberto di Villanova swore loyalty to the Marquis Tommaso I of Saluzzo but already in the 1295 Filippo di Savoia prince D'Acaja received it as a gift from his Uncle Amedeo V of Savoy immediately became of fundamental importance as an outpost against the powerful Marquisate of Saluzzo.
