The Cafaggio Castle is located in the heart of Chianti and a few kilometers from Florence. The Castle can accommodate up to 25 people, of which 6 in the two suites with the original furnishings and the panoramic terrace. The other guests can stay in the village next to the Castle; there is also a small dependence house at 100 meters from the village and overlooking the Castle.
The gardens, the vegetable gardens, the centuries-old forest and the pool overview, offer moments of priceless beauty and relaxation.
We are in the realm of organic wine and oil of the highest quality and the location of the Castle is ideal for enjoying the authentic atmospheres of the Tuscan countryside and for cultural visits to the jewels of Italian art. For those who want to take advantage of 'urban' entertainment, Florence is only 12 km and Siena less than an hour, and many are the characteristic medieval villages that dot this route.

The Castle dates back to 1300 and has seen over time the succession of various noble families. From the middle of the '700 it is owned by the Benci family. Every corner of it is full of history and memories.
The main house, the farmhouses and the annexed "work" rooms (sawmill, mill, oil mill, wine cellar, wine cellar, granaries, silk kilns, forge for agricultural tools, chicken coops, stables, pigsties) have formed up to the last century a sort of Independent and self-sufficient "village" where the products necessary for the survival and maintenance of the entire community of farmers and artisans residing here were cultivated and worked.
All the sacred rites were celebrated in the family chapel.
The ancestors of the Benci family have not only enriched the villa with masonry and decorative works of considerable artistic value, but they also have enhanced agricultural production of these lands.
Already in the middle of the 800 Enrico Benci, he produced excellent wines that were repeatedly awarded at the Italian Exhibition of SAR Eugenio di Savoia. In the following century the Chianti Benci it was exported in large quantities to the United States, where it was much appreciated.
In the ancient oil mill of the castle, today museum, olive oil was produced since the early years of 800.
Impruneta boasts an ancient tradition for olive oil, which has always been the prevailing crop, and for the large terracotta jars that were used to preserve it.
Weddings and private events
The Castle is one of the very few structures in the area authorized to officiate the civil ceremony with legal value. It provides an event hall that can comfortably accommodate up to 130 seated people, and numerous outdoor and indoor spaces suitable for the symbolic or civil ceremony: the historic halls, the private chapel, the main courtyard, the beautiful lemon house and the gardens. The castle can also be used with the original barrels. The bride and groom can choose one of the 9 rooms, all very well maintained, but the Puccini Suite inside the Castle is undoubtedly the most romantic. We will assist you and help you with the Municipality of Impruneta to allow you to celebrate your wedding or private event at the Castle.
Stay in the rooms of the Castle
the rooms are equipped with flat-screen televisions, free wi-fi connection, refrigerator, air conditioning and kitchenette (except the double room Melograno which has a fridge and kettle). The bathrooms are equipped with a hairdryer, showers and a courtesy line. The two suites in the Castle are furnished with the original family furniture. Each room in the village is inspired by the colors of a fruit of this land of ours.
A laundry room with washing machine, dryer and iron is available to guests.
A rich homemade breakfast it is served on request in the precious Liberty Dining Room of the Castle.
It is possible to organize cooking courses, tastings, included and the pizza party using the ancient Castello oven.
They also organize themselves Yoga courses e guided meditations in the woods.
