Breed of the Casalone

Razza del Casalone is an elegant farmhouse adjacent to Grosseto, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma with a secular park of 2 hectares and a swimming pool, just 10 km from the sea.

Ideal location for a couple holiday or with the family, a strategic location to easily reach the sea and the places of interest of the Maremma.

Razza Del Casalone, housed in an ancient 1700th century farmhouse, overlooks the city of Grosseto and is located on the Strada delle Collacchie which leads to Marina di Grosseto, about 2,5 km from the railway station. Over the years the city has advanced, approaching the eighteenth-century farmhouse, which maintains its original appearance in stone and overlooks a large garden and a centuries-old park.

Farmhouse in the Tuscan Maremma

The farm consists of a ancient eighteenth-century farmhouse in which 5 apartments and a large common room of 150 meters have been created. In the garden there are 7 identical and adjacent apartments, obtained from the ancient stables of the historical breeding of Razza del Casalone. Razza del Casalone is a authentic farmhouse of the Tuscan Maremma where to spend unforgettable moments immersed in the peace of the countryside. In front of the farmhouse and the ancient stables there is a large garden and a park of pines, holm oaks and cypresses illuminated in the evening and equipped with tables and chairs. The company is also equipped with Swimmingpool (7 × 15), open from May to October, games for children and private parking.

The Ponticelli family acquired the companies in Maremma in 1650, among the descendants we remember Luigi Ponticelli, a famous horse breeder. Ponticelli created the Grosseto racecourse in 1927 and raised thoroughbred horses in Razza del Casalone. In 1968 Marcello Pallini inherited the company and, in 1999, transformed it into a farmhouse, stopping breeding horses. Razza del Casalone is currently managed by his wife Diana Theoodli and by the sons Guido and Matidia Pallini.
