The story of Villa al Console
The first historical news that you have of the Villa at the Consul date back to the beginning of the sixteenth century, when the property, a small paradise not far from the center of Lucca, was the place where you were to party or spend the summer enjoying the coolness of the countryside.
A real "casino of delights"As described in the archives of the time, which in addition to the beautiful manor house was surrounded by an agricultural estate, with its orchards, rows of vines, the pink farmhouse, the shelter for lemons and camellias and the oratory sacred dedicated to Our Lady of Good Counsel.
The story of a historic Lucca villa
Many, among noble and wealthy established merchants of Lucca, were its owners over the centuries. Starting from Bizzarri family in the second half of the 500, the house was later purchased by Stefano Trenta, one of the "elders" of the Republic of Lucca in the '600, then move on to familiar local patrician families such as i de Nobili, the Tucci which in the meantime embellished the house by adding a plan and a loggia.
In the 1819 the property passed to the powerful Andreuccetti family, whose founder Domenico, named Cavaliere di Malta, although not an aristocrat, held an important position at the court of the Duke of Lucca Ludovico Carlo di Borbone.
The property included at the time, in addition to manor house, also an oratory sacred, a rustic, a closed vineyard with grove, one building to vacation, an oven, a stable and a large room for storing citrus fruits.
But the name "to the Consul", as still today the Villa is called, was given to the house by the Vice-Consul of France, the ambitious Giuseppe Albertini of race origin, clerk at the court of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, who then left it to his son Napoleon in the 1901. The Albertini family had no heirs and for fifty years remained the owner of the estate of Carignano.
On the death of Napoleon Albertini, in the 1955 the widow Zaira sold the Villa to Maria Giulia Bloise, grandmother of the Countess Leopoldina Pallotta of the Torre del Parco which is now its owner.
