The history of Villa Contessa Massari
The Villa Contessa Massari is located in Ducentola, a hamlet of the municipality of Voghiera in the province of Ferrara which is 9 km away.
The Villa dates back to the family of the Nigrelli Counts of Modena who participated in the court of Alfonso II, the last Duke of Este who died in 1598 (the Duchy passed under the control of the Pope).
Subsequently it passed to the Sassi Nigrelli family of Modena and then in 1798 to the Dotti family. He became Duke Galeazzo Massari in 1870.
