Villa La Riniera in Castel San Pietro Terme

Villa La Riniera It is located in the first hills of the medieval citadel of Castel San Pietro Terme, in the Province of Bologna and on the border area between Emilia and Romagna. Located in full campaign about 2 km from the town, and surrounded by a big park of secular plants, it is the ideal place for those looking for a quiet stay in the green of nature but also a comfortable base for beautiful hiking or cycling in the surroundings, or for visits to the nearby cities of Bologna (20 km), Modena e Ravenna (40 km) e Ferrara (50 km).

The current owners have recently and carefully rearranged two apartments on the ground floor, for a total number of 5 / 6 beds, which can be used both for short stays as well as for holiday homes for periods of one or two weeks or even longer after agreements .

The two apartments are as follows:

The first, suite with lounge, double bedroom and bathroom. The suite is equipped with all the necessary equipment and appliances for the preparation of breakfast. Frescoed ceilings e original parquet floors.

The second, a large apartment (Twentyfour sq.m.) with a large, fully equipped kitchen, a triple bedroom with a double bed and a large single bed "Pompeian" bathroom with original marble basin and frescoed ceiling. Antique furnishings and original parquet floors.

During the months of April and May guests will enjoy the extraordinary show of almost blooming 20.000 peony plants, which are bred in the farm estate of the villa for the production of cut plants and flowers.

The history of Villa La Riniera

Of a XV century plant, the villa owes its name to that of the Rinieri family, which built it and was its first owner.

Purchased and expanded during the course of 700 from a rich merchant of the area, passed in the following century to marchesi Rusconi, which enlarged it further restructuring and introducing elements of strong taste neoclassic.

In the immediate post-war period it was then acquired by the family of the current owners, who over time made it their main residence.

Outside the villa is characterized by a large one eardrum above the main entrance and two important porticoes on the north and west sides, while in the interior there are several frescoes and tempera panels of figurative repertoire typically neoclassic e eighteenth-century with landscapes, mythological figures and architectures.

With its imposing quadrangular structure, lying on the first hill of Castel San Pietro Terme, the Riniera is one of the most important historical and architectural elements of the surrounding area.

The highway exit of Castel San Pietro, from the A 14, is located at 10 minutes from the Villa, while at 5 minutes we find the railway station equipped with ample parcheggio not guarded, with trains shuttle to Bologna o Ravenna each 20 / 30 minutes.
