Villa Zaballina in Poggibonsi
Cinciano is of certain Latin origins, perhaps belonging to the Gens Cincia. In 1126 it is donated by Zaballina, widow of Ridolfino da Catignano, to the Bishop of Florence Gottifredo together with the castles of Linari and Catignano. It is also mentioned in the texts of 1292, when some lands are rented by Bishop Andrea to the annual census of 14 staia di grano.
The springs and the bathroom have been known since the 13th century. Given its dominant position on the Elsa and the proximity to the ancient Poggio di Bonizio, from Bonizio Segni lord of the place, in a strategic position on the Via Francigena, it follows the fate and the alternating events until the annexation to the Florentine Republic.
