Il Museum of Sacred Art of Montespertoli, municipality of the province of Florence, was inaugurated in the 1996 and set up in the premises of the rectory of San Piero in Mercato.

Il Museum born from the convention between the City and the Vicariate Foraneo of Montespertoli.

Headquarters Museum it is indeed the suggestive and wide rectory was originally the Pieve di San Piero in Mercato, today greatly enriched with precious paintings, silver and wallpaper, just to witness the importance historical / artistic of the Municipality of Montespertoli.

The exhibition of the objects it has as its criterion the grouping of the works of the same church, and therefore of the churches of the same plover.

La church it's a church rural with annex baptistery and in'High Middle age the same was at the center of a civil and religious territorial district. At the church some liturgical functions were reserved and others depended on it churches without baptistery.

In the first room the works of the art are exhibited plover di San Piero in Mercato.

The second room instead it is dedicated to the churches of Santa Maria a Torre and of San Bartolomeo in Tresanti.

In the third room are exhibited works from the churches of the baptists of Coeli in the classroom and of San Pancrazio.

The last section of the museum houses sacred wallpaper and other paper material.

The most precious work that can be admired inside the museum is the small one Madonna and Child, attributed to Filippo Lippi.
