"The Bulbs of Evelina Pisani"
at Villa Pisani Bolognesi Scalabrin Vescovana (Padua)
Every day from March 21st to April 26th 2020
From 9: 00 19 to: 00
Thousands of beautiful, colorful tulips of over 150 different species and colors mix with grass and simple and poetic spontaneous spring flowers.
We have reached over 150.000 tulips, with new arrivals this year selected from the novelties that Fred De Meulder sends us from Holland.
And also the "blue road", the blue paths that lead to tulips with inflorescences between indigo and blue, have stretched and enriched with thousands of other muscari bulbs, and the show is truly wonderful, original, unique. We called it "a Dutch impressionist painting".
In addition, a rich program of activities: guided tours, literary and cultural meetings, workshops and recreational activities for children and teenagers, exhibitions, courses in floral arrangements, cooking courses with herbs, flowers and fruit, botanical lessons.
Every Saturday and Sunday there will be exhibitors with their excellent products and creations.
On Easter Monday: a special treasure hunt and picnic in the garden on other Sundays.
Ninety different varieties and colors of bulbs, with feathered, fringed or smooth petals, which mix, in a rainbow of shades, with grass and spontaneous flowers in the informal garden of the historic Villa Pisani Bolognesi Scalabrin.
We are in Vescovana, in the province of Padua, a few minutes from Rovigo and Ferrara, about half an hour's drive from Venice. From Saturday 21 March to Sunday 26 April 2020, every day from 9.00 to 19.00, Mrs. Mariella Bolognesi Scalabrin, owner of the historic Villa opens the gates of the park in 1800 (the villa dates back to 1500), for the fifth edition of " Giardinity spring - I Bulbi di Evelina Pisani ”, the spectacular flowering, from early to late, of 100 thousand Dutch tulips, supplied by the prestigious Dutch company Fred de Meulder Export BV, which are mixed, as in an impressionist painting, with grass and spontaneous flowers from the informal garden of the Villa.
To enrich the landscape there will be a "blue path" (not walkable) traced with 20 thousand muscari from the inflorescences between the indigo and the blue which will accompany the visitor from the garden to the lawn
of the Villa.
An exciting show that of "Giardinity, a new Dutch impressionism" made of lights, colors and scents to be lived without haste, savoring the blossoming of nature in spring.

In the place of an ancient Este fortress more than a thousand years old, stands the villa commissioned by Cardinal Francesco Pisani, a Venetian patrician. The sixteenth-century palace with frescoes by Paolo Veronese, Gian Battista Zelotti, Dario Varotari and the Flemish Ludovico Toeput, called the Pozzoserrato, was born as the administrative headquarters of the land properties acquired in 1478 in the Lower Paduan area. Evelina van Millingen born in Constantinople to an English family of Flemish origin, where she lived her early childhood, and raised in London and Rome, created the garden and park in the gardenesque style of the time, with Islamic, English and Flemish influences. Just as Evelina leaves them, today we admire the villa and garden, restored and lovingly cared for by the current owner, Mariella Bolognesi.
