Bergamo is located just 50 km from Milan and five from the Orio al Serio airport; it is one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. The Upper City is a splendid medieval town surrounded by the Venetian walls, now UNESCO heritage. The Lower Town is the heart of the modern day life and commercial, alternating ancient sixteenth-century neighbourhoods, nineteenth-century quarters and new architectures.

Arrival in the afternoon at a hotel in Bergamo. Dinner in a suggestive restaurant in the Upper City. Evening walk in the enchanting medieval alleys and along the walls.
DAY I:
Lotto itinerary in the Borgo Pignolo: visit of three churches that host wonderful paintings by Lorenzo Lotto (1480-1557). Lunch at Palazzo Agliardi welcomed by its hosts.
Guided tour of the Upper City: Piazza Vecchia with S. Maria Maggiore, the Colleoni Chapel and the Cathedral.
Visit to Palazzo Terzi, splendid eighteenth-century private historical residence.
Dinner and free evening.
DAY II:
Almenno San Salvatore: visit to the Romanesque churches of San Tomè and San Nicola.
Visit to Villa Vitalba Lurani Cernuschi and with wine tasting in their cellars.
Lunch at Villa Pesenti Agliardi in Sombreno. Subsequent visit to the neoclassical villa designed by Leopold Pollack, the same architect of Villa Reale in Milan.
Visit to the Sacristies of Alzano, an unexpected Baroque masterpiece, Departure.
