With its location in close proximity to Florence and surrounded by the greenery of its garden, Villa Guicciardini Corsi Salviati holds a place of extreme importance in the history of Tuscan villas. In particular, the Garden is an important example in the history of gardens in Italy, created as a result of the layering of styles, which over the course of more than four centuries have closely intertwined its various components to form a single organism in which the architecture of the Villa and the aspects of the surrounding landscape come together and coexist in harmony. The rich botanical heritage is divided into various areas, such as the lawn, the formal Italian garden and the holm oak wood, the ancient ragnaia (a grove with tall trees) and the romantic pond, where the common theme is the constant presence of water. The large number of sculpted statues and ornaments, mostly from the eighteenth century, complement and enhance the unusual features of this varied setting.
