CASA VITTORIA: A CHARMING GUESTHOUSE FOR HOLIDAYING ON LAKE COMO

Casa Vittoria is the guesthouse of the villa formerly owned by the well-known noble Milanese family Litta Modignani, which was built in the neoclassical style during the first half of the nineteenth century by Architect Luigi Tatti.

The house is situated in a hamlet of Tremezzo, within an old fishing village called Portezza. The guesthouse is surrounded by a wonderful garden overlooking the water, and is accessible

from the lake by means of a pier that allows motorboats and seaplanes to dock. The municipality of Tremezzina is located in the most famous stretch of Lake Como, also known as the Lario, and together with the adjacent Bellagio across the water and the surrounding areas, it is home to the Villas that are most celebrated for their beautiful architecture and stunning gardens.

Casa Vittoria recently underwent extensive renovation carried out by Architect Cristiana Vannini (www.cristianavannini.it), who has preserved and upgraded all the original features, incorporating every kind of modern convenience in the guesthouse, including a lift and Wi-Fi connection.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES AT CASA VITTORIA

Casa Vittoria features four twin-bedded rooms. All rooms are equipped with heating and air conditioning. They have a private bathroom, and all have a view of the lake and garden. Wood-beamed ceilings and wooden floors ensure perfect soundproofing. The rooms are furnished with period furniture and paintings, making it a very charming place to spend your holiday on Lake Como. The ground floor is used for communal areas (kitchen, dining room, living room, toilets); Casa Vittoria can therefore also be enjoyed as a single residence in the case of larger family groups.

STAYING ON LAKE COMO

Lake Como, or Lario, has been known since Roman times for its mild climate and beautiful landscapes. It was relatively easy to cross the water from the Po Valley to the start of the Valtellina region and Val Chiavenna, and from there on to the Engadine valley region in the Swiss Alps.

Many different families from the Milanese aristocracy chose to build dwellings on Lake Como, often encircled by glorious parks and gardens. The great rise in popularity of the Lario area began in the 19th century, when visits to the lake became an almost mandatory alternative to the classic Grand Tour route. This marked the birth of tourism, with the establishment of the first large hotels equipped with modern conveniences, which could be conveniently reached by boat (some of which have been restored and are still in service today). Casa Vittoria is the ideal choice for those who want to spend an unforgettable holiday on Lake Como, offering a unique home where you can relax and enjoy unadulterated peace and tranquillity.
