Principe Lampedusa Boutique Hotel is located in the historic eighteenth-century mansion Villa Lampedusa. Villa Lampedusa was the summer residence of Prince of Lampedusa, one of the mansions that inspired his colossal work “Il Gattopardo”.

Villa Lampedusa has been restored in recent years, maintaining the original architectural style. It is a unique and evocative place, where you can breathe the air of the '700 Palermo nobility, without sacrificing modern comforts and luxury.
The villa is surrounded by splendid gardens, such as the "Garden of scents", which allows guests to enjoy moments of relaxation in the open air, surrounded by the colours of the flowers and the scents of herbs, which give the park its name.
The structure is located in a privileged position, it is located in a quiet and traffic-free area, but still close to the centre of Palermo and a few minutes from the wonderful beach of Mondello and the main city sport facilities. Close by, there is also the Favorita Park of the and the Royal Chinese House, better known as the Chinese Palace, a splendid oriental-style residence, commissioned by King Ferdinand III of Bourbon as his home.
History
The Villa was founded by Don Isidoro Terrasi in the XVIII century. The current version, after the amendments of architect Giovanni Del Frago, is the result of the classical modifications done at the end of 1700 by Prices Alliata di Villafranca. The Villa is notable for its style choices and architectonic solutions, as the affectation of Louis xvi decorations, the newstand close to the pincer stairs, according to late xviii century schemes, the valuable frescoes of the noble floor and the notable temperas, on the lower floor, or the Roman painter Gaspare Fumagalli, and the Serpotta stuccoworks and the frescoed ceilings. In 1845 the mansion was bought by Giulio Tomasi IV, Prince of Lampedusa, with the refund he had received from the Bourbon government after he had been expropriated of Lampedusa island. An astronomic observatory was also set to meet his passion about stars. This beautiful residence has inspired Giuseppe Lanza Tomasi in his colossal work "Il Gattopardo", which is mentioned as Villa Salina, absorbed in a bridal orange flower scent, surrounded by a harmonious landscape, which fitted a gentle sensitivity and the attitudes of an introspective and introverted thinker.
