Numerous apartments, located inside the Villa itself or in other residences located within the park, are available for rent.

The Villa is in a unique position for those wishing to enjoy the charm of a property steeped in history, just a stone's throw from the sea and surrounded by the lush greenery of its centuries-old park.

THE HISTORY OF VILLA BORGHESE BELL’ASPETTO

Construction of the Villa by Cardinal Vincenzo Costaguti (1612-1660) began in 1647.

The work, attributed to architect Giovanni Antonio De Rossi (1616-1695), was inaugurated two years later and was given the name of Villa di Bell'Aspetto.

Numerous distinguished figures have been guests here, including Queen Christina of Sweden, Pope Innocent XII in 1697 and Pope Benedict XIV in 1746.

Gabriele D'Annunzio (1904) wrote his opera "La Figlia di Iorio" (‘The Daughter of Iorio’) during his stay at the Villa.

The villa remained in the possession of the Costaguti family until 1818, when it was purchased by Duke Giovanni Torlonia.

A few years later, in 1832, the Torlonia family transferred ownership to Prince Don Camillo Borghese. From this time onwards, the name Villa di Bell'Aspetto was changed to Villa Borghese.

In 1923, the entire area in which the building stands became subject to a Panoramic Constraint by the Ministry of National Education.

In 1944, during World War II, the underground vaults of the Villa housed the Advanced Headquarters of the VI Corps, V Army, of the American Army.
