The well-balanced and harmonious architecture of Villa Rubini Redaelli, a perfect example of an early 20th-century lakeside property set against the superb backdrop of Lake Como in Dongo, boasts graceful and picturesque lines which benefit from having a lively, dynamic layout, further enhanced by its veranda and turret. The main Villa directly overlooks the lake, in a scenic setting which is embellished by its stunning park, oval swimming pool, private covered and open dock for boats, and the large panoramic terrace overlooking the lake. This location is exclusively available for weddings, private events and receptions.

Equally well designed, the internal spaces are spacious and full of character. The exquisite décor and original furnishings embellish the dining rooms and the veranda facing onto the lake offers truly stunning views. The Villa and its annexes lend themselves to hosting dream receptions in a rare and precious setting. The extensive outdoor spaces, including the gardens and the lakeside terraces provides guests with many different solutions for the organisation of their special celebration.

The Villa can also accommodate up to 18 people for overnight stays: on the first floor, there are two single rooms, three double rooms and one twin, all with en-suite bathrooms; on the second floor, there is one double room and two twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and one quadruple room with a bathroom.

Villa Rubini Redaelli was built at the end of the 19th century by Engineer Giulio Rubini, who was a Member of Parliament for over twenty years and held the office of Minister three times at the turn of the century. He was the last owner of the Dongo Ironworks, which were founded in the 16th century and had been acquired by the Rubini family at the end of the 18th century. Engineer Giulio, the great-grandfather of the current owner, transferred ownership of the ironworks to his sister Irene and her husband Giorgio Enrico Falck at the beginning of the last century. He purchased the family home from the noble Rumi family, razed it to the ground and built the present Villa in the classic lakeside style as a wedding gift for his daughter Luigia, who was marrying Lino Redaelli, a representative of a Lecco-based family who owned local steel mills. The Villa, and in particular the garden, were completely renovated in the early 1960s at the behest of Count Alberto del Bono, the spouse of the current owner, as a result of a revolutionary project carried out by Architect Francesco Clerici.

The Villa is available in May, June and September and can be transformed into a holiday home or a wedding destination, as well as holding wedding receptions and workshops. Seated lunches for up to 90 people can be served indoors, while use can also be made of the garden with its oval marble swimming pool and landscaped docks, depending on the guests’ individual requirements.

Accommodation is available for a maximum of 18 people, with two single rooms, six doubles and one quadruple. Every room has its own en-suite bathroom.
