Situated midway between Padua and Venice, on the Riviera del Brenta, 19th-century Villa Tron Mioni stands in a magnificent area of historical, artistic and scenic significance. It was built by the noble Carrara family, ancestors of the Mioni family, in the site where the monumental 17th-century Villa Tron, destroyed by fire in 1797, previously existed.

The present architectural complex consists of the main Villa, the ‘barchessa’ (formerly a barn), rural outbuildings and an oratory, all enclosed by walls that encircle five hectares of a romantic landscaped parkland with hillocks, a small lake, alleys, panoramic parterres, watercourses, an icehouse and a ‘brolo’ orchard.

The permanent residence of the Mioni family for over 200 years, the Villa retains all the unadulterated charm of a historic home. The restoration of the ‘barchessa’ has resulted in the creation of three elegant apartments for guests, named 'Altana’, 'Mezà’ and 'Portico’. The renovation work has carefully preserved the original spirit of this antique Venetian abode with its wooden beams, terracotta floors and period family furniture, while at the same time creating cosy and welcoming rooms equipped with all modern comforts.

Inside the Villa, there are two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and guests also have free access to the private park, which is equipped for enjoying breakfast outdoors. This peaceful haven is just a few kilometres from Venice and Padua, which is easily accessible by bus every half hour.

THE HISTORY OF VILLA TRON MIONI

Built by Andrea Tron in the early decades of the 17th century, the ancient Villa Tron was destroyed by a fire in 1798. Only the octagonal oratory of the original complex has survived to the present day, and visitors can admire a number of frescoes depicting the life of the Virgin Mary and a rich marble altar with three large statues attributed to Filippo Parodi.

The present Villa and adjoining barns are the result of extensive renovation carried out by the Carrara family, originally from Bergamo, who purchased the original complex. The property was enlarged by annexing extensive land all around the property, transforming into a thriving agricultural estate. It remained in the possession of the Carrara family until the early 20th century when it passed by marriage to the Mioni family, who still today use it as their permanent residence.
