Villa Selvatico da Porto was built starting from the end of 1400, and is a typical patrician country residence, where the nobles used to stay for the summer “holidays” and to control the agricultural possessions.
The main building is set on a double symmetry, with two identical sober and elegant facades, softened by arched portals surmounted by original masks. On the ground floor and the first floor large central halls cross it from North to South, flanked by smaller rooms.
The History of Villa Selvatico da Porto In 1792, as a plaque placed on the North facade, a first restoration of the villa was concluded which embellished it to its current form, while maintaining the agricultural destination of part of its buildings (barco, barchessa, limonaia).
The villa, originally built by the important Paduan Frigimelica family, and then passed to the aristocratic Selvatico family by marriage, has belonged to the da Porto family from Vicenza since 1951. Following careful renovations in recent years, the villa now offers accommodation in 6 independent and perfectly equipped apartments, all surrounded by a large garden (3 hectares), which also features a beautiful outdoor swimming pool that is open in the summer season. Its proximity to Padua and Venice makes it an ideal place for those who want to do cultural tourism in the Veneto region.
In 2024, the villa’s old stable was restored, creating a multipurpose room suitable for business meetings, teambuilding activities, small events and cultural initiatives. The room can accommodate 30 to 50 people and is equipped with wifi and a projection screen.
The villa is open by reservation for guided tours of part of the internal rooms and the garden.
