Piemonte: Unveiling the Wonders of the Pinerolo Region

    Private Residences Revealed

    • Casa Lajolo
A noble country residence featuring a classical Italian garden and a charming kitchen garden. The ground floor, open to visitors, houses the family’s historical archive and library, which includes a rich collection of opera librettos.
    • Palazzotto Juva
Named after Giacomo Pio Juva, who restored and expanded the palace in 1797, transforming its vast garden into a summer retreat for his family. Visitors can admire the Hall of Medallions, the Hall of Cartouches, the Hall of Shells, and the grand dining room. The ceilings are adorned with neoclassical frescoes depicting landscapes and castles surrounding Heidelberg.
    • Castle of Marchierù
An ancient fortress established by the House of Acaja in the 14th century. The visit is led by the descendants of the family that still owns the castle. Guests can explore the library and grand halls before taking a stroll through the beautiful park, with its enchanting corners dedicated to peonies and hydrangeas.

    The Places We’ll Visit

    • Cavour – Rocca Park
Entry to the Abbey of Santa Maria, founded in the 11th century, to explore its remarkable 10th-century crypt—one of the oldest churches in Piedmont. Visit to the Parish Church of San Lorenzo, home to the significant “Madonna del Consorzio” triptych from the 16th century, attributed to Defendente Ferrari.
    • Chapel of Santa Maria di Missione
Dating back to 1037, this is the oldest religious building in Villafranca Piemonte. It features an exceptional cycle of frescoes, a masterpiece of the International Gothic style. Painted around the 1430s by Aimo Dux, a Lombard school artist from Pavia, the frescoes were commissioned by the Savoy-Acaja court in the early 15th century.
