Villa Cicchi

Villa Cicchi is a holiday home nestled in the hills deep in the Piceno region, where a passion for tradition and the local culture is blended with an impeccable attention to detail and the art of hospitality, resulting in a truly unique experience.

With their large, frescoed vaults, the rooms look out onto a spacious terrace where breakfast is served in the summer, offering beautiful views of the park, the swimming pool and, beyond the cedar trees, the city of Ascoli and the Tronto Valley. There are just six rooms, all preserving their original design – intimate bijoux spaces that are adjoining and interconnecting, each uniquely furnished with wrought-iron or mahogany and walnut beds, artistic decorations extending from walls to ceilings, each and every one creating a serene and refined atmosphere.

The owners are totally dedicated to conveying the splendour of living in this magnificent region, complemented by the excellence of the cuisine and traditional dishes. The use of fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from the family farm, a focus on natural cooking that combines tradition and innovation, and the careful selection of high-quality ingredients are just a few of the core values reflected in every plate of food. Each dish is a journey of discovery, exploring the flavours and history behind each product.

Villa Cicchi is a real haven for those seeking an experience staying at an agritourism, offering 40 hectares of land cultivated using organic farming practices. There are olive groves, a vineyard, a fruit orchard, a vegetable garden spanning more than two hectares, arable fields, woodland and livestock farming. These sustainable methods yield high-quality products that form the foundation of our cuisine. For guests, there is an opportunity to take home the flavours of the region in practical jars, including jams, vegetable spreads, jellies, compotes, a choice of two types of premium extra virgin olive oil and traditional Ascoli-style stuffed olives.

The history of Villa Cicchi
Perched on a hill overlooking Ascoli, as the Romans once beheld it over 2,000 years ago, this late 17th-century residence sits on a travertine ridge. The first known owner that can be traced back to the ‘Catasto Piano’ land registry was Don Angelo Angelini in the early 1700s, who established a solid foundation for his home by placing it in an ancient travertine quarry. The flooring of part of the cellar, courtyard and church consists of natural rock, while the walls are constructed from ashlars from the Roman period and porous sponga stone, sourced from excavations made during the construction of the residence.

In the 19th century, one of Don Angelo’s nieces sold the property to Marquis Guidi, who updated the dwelling’s decorations with tempera paintings by Raffaele Fogliardi, a young artist from Recanati. In 1917, the Cicchi family acquired the property, with Laura and Serafino Cicchi then restoring it to its former glory, making Villa Cicchi their mainstay and dedicating their lives to its passionate and meticulous restoration.

It was subsequently Elena who embraced a vision for the future and devoted all her time and energy to developing the hospitality and catering business, organising events and memorable experiences for a clientele appreciative of authentic experiences. Since 1995, the Villa has operated as an agritourism, offering holiday stays, regional cuisine and spaces for celebrating special occasions.

Villa Cicchi’s welcoming atmosphere invites visitors to embrace the charm, warmth, traditions and culinary delights of the Marche region, renowned for its history, art, natural beauty and exceptional gastronomic products. Maria Elena Cicchi and her family eagerly await the opportunity to welcome you and offer you a truly unforgettable experience.
