Villa Corinna

Villa Corinna is a historic villa in the Monregalese area.

Originally built as a farmhouse at the end of the 18th century, it was converted into a summer residence in 1868. The surrounding farmland was transformed into a 15,000 square metre English-style garden, and a turret was added with the intervention of Ligurian architects. In 1911, the Villa was acquired by the Orsi Counts, who were then residing in Venice, and chose to use the property as a summer retreat for the family.

Throughout the 20th century, Villa Corinna served as the venue for many significant family events. Since 2014, it has been rented out for private events such as weddings and family gatherings, and has been made available to the municipality of Villanova Mondovì for the local patron saint’s festival.

The park
English-style gardens are characterised by their presenting a host of different viewpoints, which creates the illusion of constantly being in a different spot. This park hosts a wide range of plants, typical of an 18th-century garden, including magnolias, bamboo and palm trees, and various types of maples and oaks. Hydrangeas and roses add colour in the areas closest to the Villa. The lawn at the front of the residence provides a sunny spot to relax in, while the centuries-old trees offer shade and welcome privacy. Despite its central location and easy access from the main road, the park is completely enclosed by the secular trees, making it nearly invisible from the surrounding area.

Access to the villa is possible both from the back of the park and from the courtyard. There are ample parking spaces nearby.

The Villa features a spacious courtyard with a large paved portico, a grapevine pergola and shaped

flower beds, creating a secluded space between the Villa and the 19th-century outbuildings.

The Villa
The ground floor spaces are furnished with period furniture and display frescoed vaults. Two of the rooms have fireplaces. For indoor events, both the rooms and the portico can accommodate up to 80/90 seated guests.

The ground floor rooms of the villa, courtyard and garden are all accessible to the disabled, although the upper-floor rooms are not. One of the bathrooms is spacious enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
