Villa Laura: A Historic Haven in the Heart of Sannio

Villa Laura is a refined historic residence located in Moiano, at the foot of Mount Taburno, in the heart of the picturesque Caudina Valley. Built in the 1920s in the Art Nouveau (Liberty) style, it represents one of the rarest examples of floral architecture in the Sannio region, constructed by incorporating a pre-existing 18th-century structure.

Surrounded by a large garden of over 3,000 square meters, Villa Laura welcomes its guests among magnolias, linden trees, pomegranates, rose gardens, and camellias. Inside, every room preserves the villa’s original charm, featuring period furnishings and a unique view of the surrounding mountains. The sprawling English lawns and shaded areas offer a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for events on the ground floor and in the garden, or for short stays, romantic weekends, and tranquil getaways immersed in greenery in the second-floor attic suite.

    History

The villa is closely tied to the Ferace family, of French origin, who arrived in Southern Italy during the Angevin period. At the end of the 18th century, a small building was constructed on the estate, which has always been owned by the family. In the early 19th century, Francesco Ferace commissioned the architect Sirignano to transform the old rural lodge into a stately villa dedicated to his mother Laura, from whom it took its name. With its Art Nouveau friezes, wrought-iron railings, and floral decorations, Villa Laura stands as a precious testament to the eclectic style of that era.

Events – Weddings – Film & Photo Shoots

The entrance to the villa features a grand iron gate that opens onto an avenue lined with hedges, linden trees, and magnolias leading to the property. Guests enter beneath an elegant portico with columns. The event space consists of 5 halls, guest restrooms, and a dedicated catering area. The facility is fully accessible to people with disabilities.

    Hospitality & Experiences

Villa Laura opens its doors to anyone wishing to experience authentic hospitality in a historic Sannio residence. Available to guests on the second floor (without an elevator) is a refined suite for short stays. It features two bedrooms, a panoramic living room, and a small dining room with a kitchenette. There are two full bathrooms (one with a shower enclosure and the other with a walk-in shower), plus a laundry room. Finally, a spiral staircase leads to a magnificent terrace offering views of the entire Caudina Valley, the Castle of Airola, the Castle of Montesarchio, and Mount Taburno. When no private events are scheduled, guests are welcome to use the garden, the wood-fired oven, and the barbecue.
