Palazzo Ducale, also known as Castello Gonzaga, is an ancient private residence located in the small town of Alessano in the heart of the lower Salento region. Princess Isabella del Balzo brought the feudal domain of Alessano as her dowry for her husband, Duke Ferdinando Gonzaga, in the year 1500. The Palazzo evokes an olde-worlde charm, inspired by a harmonious, evocative sense of beauty. The space dedicated to and available for events consists of six large reception rooms, five of which have ancient working fireplaces. The central hall features antique inlaid wooden parquet flooring, measuring 1000 cubic metres. The Palazzo is a refined and exclusive location, available all year round for organising events, meetings, fashion shows, exhibitions, conferences, concerts, photo shoots, business meetings and gala dinners. There are seating options for 200 guests indoors and 200 in the garden during the summer.

In terms of accommodation, there are two very spacious, bright bedrooms, both with newly renovated en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen is completely new and is fully equipped. A charming antique staircase leads to the attic space, with a third bedroom and bathroom. All rooms overlook the old town square, Piazza Castello. The furnishings are period and in excellent condition; Wi-Fi and air conditioning are provided. Reserved parking spaces are available.

Princess Isabella del Balzo brought the feudal domain of Alessano as her dowry for her husband, Duke Ferdinando Gonzaga, in the year 1500. The Palazzo evokes an olde-worlde charm, inspired by a harmonious, evocative sense of beauty.

The central core of the building dates back to the second half of the 15th century. A majestic flight of steps in Lecce stone leads to the entrance of the Palazzo. Its charming reception rooms, which are of such high historical and artistic value, make this location an ideal setting for prestigious events. Palazzo Ducale has been closely guarding the tradition, culture and artistic nature of our country for centuries. The level of hospitality offered is impeccable and personalised, and it is also possible to arrange musical entertainment. Upon request, there is a beautiful grand piano on site that can be played by a pianist with a vast repertoire of international and classical music.
