Castello di Roncade

Castello di Roncade, rebuilt in 1508, is a rare example of a pre-Palladian villa surrounded by medieval walls. It is located in the heart of the town of Roncade, in the Venetian countryside between Treviso and Venice. This magnificent Renaissance complex was inhabited for four centuries by the Giustiniani family, whose illustrious members closely intertwined its history with that of the Serenissima Republic of Venice.

The Ciani Bassetti family, whose traditions are steeped in ancient agricultural activities, took over the property in the early 20th century, overseeing the restoration of the Castle and the replanting of the vineyards. In recent years, production has been consistently expanding, and the estate now comprises 110 hectares of vineyards, a a state-of-the-art winery located in Mogliano Veneto and the original wine cellar where the finest of high-quality wines are aged.

Today, Castello di Roncade offers its guests the opportunity to stay overnight in the luxurious suites of the villa and in the rooms and apartments located in the towers. High level hospitality just a few kilometers from the most interesting tourist centers in the Veneto and from the airports of Treviso and Venice.
Guided tours of the villa, the vineyard and the aging cellars are organised, as well as guided tastings to offer visitors the opportunity to taste the Castle’s wines and learn about the history that has linked this villa to the area for years.
The Castle also offers the possibility of organizing private and corporate events in the rooms of the granaries and in the spaces of the “barchessa”.

The high-quality wines produced at the Castello are the result of one hundred and ten hectares of vineyards in a terroir characterised by a micro-climate with low rainfall and a layer of ‘caranto’ just a few centimetres deep. Our fragrant white wines and full-bodied red wines have achieved considerable recognition and accolades, winning important awards in wine guides and competitions.
