The history of Palazzo Della Rosa
The present-day appearance of the dwelling is thought to date back to the second half of the 18th century. This can be observed in the overall layout, the façade’s balcony with its intricate wrought-iron grilles, the interplay of the archways in the courtyard and the spacious hall on the first floor which is believed to have been decorated by Benigno Bossi, who produced the finest art of the period.

We understand that the Dalla Rosa Prati family also possessed a select gallery of paintings, mainly realized by artists who learnt their craft in Parma, including a superb painting of a Madonna and Child with St Catherine by Girolamo Mazzola.
Many of these paintings are now on display in the National Gallery in Parma.
Now converted into a luxury residential hotel, the superb renovation of the Palazzo has brought an added and much-anticipated representation of times gone by to the medieval square it sits on.
