The history of Tenuta Pegazzera
Palazzo Pegazzera is immersed in the green hills of the Oltrepò Pavese area, close to Casteggio and just a short distance from Milan.
It benefits from an idyllic location: the Villa is situated 257 metres above sea level, in a commanding position and surrounded by prestigious vineyards.
It was built between 1703 and 1718 by the Almo Collegio Borromeo of Pavia, which designated it as a summer residence and held ownership of it continuously until 1967.
The Villa includes a park with centuries-old trees and a chapel with an independent entrance, open towards the garden and dedicated to San Carlo Borromeo, the founder and pride and glory of the private university hall, or Collegio, of Pavia.
The building is one of the finest examples of a ‘Lombard-style Villa’, being linear and elegant and presenting refined and essential architectural features.
