Villa Giorgi Viti

Villa Giorgi Viti is a historical residence consisting of two separate units connected by a façade, designed by architect Luigi Campani. It overlooks an expansive garden surrounded by walls and two defensive towers, featuring a rainwater collecting pool measuring 20 metres by 6, which is six metres deep.

The history of Villa Giorgi Viti
The oldest part of the Villa is built on the remains of Etruscan-Roman structures, which have been added to over the centuries to create the current property. The first historical document confirming the existence of the Borgo di Mazzolla dates back to 1080. In 1472, the village was besieged, conquered and razed to the ground by the Medici army led by Federico da Montefeltro.

After being owned by the Giorgi family for many years, Villa Giorgi Viti was purchased in 1850 by Giuseppe Benedetto Viti, who had a neo-Gothic façade constructed facing the garden, incorporating the ancient tower.

A section of road flanked by the two building blocks and featuring medieval paving stones was also acquired. The far end of the road, next to the tower, was enclosed with a gate supported by pillars topped with two lions.
