The history of Villa Serego Alighieri
Dante Alighieri spent a number of years of his exile in Verona. His son Pietro, who remained there even after the great poet’s demise, acquired the Casal dei Ronchi estate in 1353 in the heart of historic Valpolicella. The large 120-hectare estate is still cultivated with vines to this day. Twenty generations later, the estate still belongs to the Serego Alighieri Counts, direct descendants of the poet, who continue to oversee the farm’s agricultural, wine-growing and hospitality activities.
