Convento San Bartolomeo

The “Convento San Bartolomeo” is an historical convent located on Mount Amiata in Tuscany (Siena province): it is a magical place for travellers seeking exclusive and unique location and a base for special Tuscan experiences. The structure dating back to the thirteenth century preserves much of the ancient splendour with perfectly restored halls and original frescoes. 17 charming rooms, a wide garden, a panoramic pool and fascinating indoor and outdoor corners.

Located close to uncontaminated woods of Monte Amiata and small medieval villages, the Convento is close to the beautiful Orcia Valley, Unesco World Heritage,  offering outdoor activities like trekking and biking tours. The area offers many experiences, such as visit to wine cellars with wine tasting, cooking classes, visit to the mill and pasta making, horse back riding, hot air ballooning, regenerating day spas by hot springs, and more. Services
The rich buffet breakfast with home made cakes and high level local cold cuts and cheeses, is served in the dedicated cosy rooms on the ground floor or, during the warmer season, in the courtyard under the shade of a big and old walnut tree.

Light lunch with different salads, fresh mozzarella and local excellent cold cuts and cheese is served every day, as well as dinner served in the splendid 14th century refectory room, or outside by the panoramic garden in the summer.

A brand-new swimming pool facing the valley is now available for our guests. It is open all year around, its water being heated in the winter.
