Rocca Isolani, a 14th-century historical residence in Bologna
Rocca Isolani is a 14th-century historical residence located in the Emilia-Romagna region. With its rich history, this charming monument is a highly desirable and elegant location for hosting important private and corporate events, ranging from conventions, congresses, concerts and conferences to weddings and private receptions, including large gatherings.
In addition to the six splendid internal reception rooms, which can accommodate 300 standing or 200 seated guests, there are spacious loggias on either side of the main building for events requiring space for a further 200 standing guests. The Renaissance Court measures 450 square metres and is suitable for a capacity of 250 people. Following the recent restoration of Villa Carlo V, the ground floor of the Villa can now also be used and features a single hall with room for up to 250 seated guests.

The history of Rocca Isolani
Rocca Isolani was built at the beginning of the 14th century and was subsequently rebuilt in the 15th century following a fire. It was plundered by the imperial Landsknecht mercenary troops before they entered the capital for the Sack of Rome in 1527. Along with the adjacent Villa, it was remodelled and expanded in the years immediately following, based on a design by Jacopo Barozzi, also known as Il Vignola, in preparation of hosting Emperor Charles V at the time of his coronation in Bologna in 1530. Il Vignola also created the elegant Colombaia (dovecote) with its exceptional helicoidal inclined plane in 1536. Another great source of pride of Rocca Isolani is the series of frescoes by Amico Aspertini, painted between 1538 and 1542 in three rooms of the Rocca: the Hall of Mars, the Hall of Astronomy and the Hall of Hercules.

Facilities and services: weddings and private events in Bologna
Rocca Isolani, with its fabulous array of extraordinary settings, is an ideal venue for both private and corporate events of considerable scale, such as conventions, congresses, concerts, conferences, weddings and private receptions. The ample spaces at Rocca Isolani lend themselves perfectly to accommodating substantial gatherings and the organisation of large-scale events.
The family also owns Palazzo Isolani, an ideal location for private events and weddings in the centre of Bologna, and Villa Isolani in Ozzano del’Emilia. Both are similarly member of the A.D.S.I., the Italian Historical Residences Association.
